Project Brief

Careerscape is an Intranet portal designed for Helping Employees of organization in tracking career paths. It also helps them by giving an opportunity to understand & plan their future career within the company. This portal can help employees to see their current path within the company, competency, available positions, and skills required. With this information, employees can plan for future possible career moves in accordance with their expertise and interests. It also helps the company to manage internal job requirements and talent management by tracking employee career paths.

Pathway Design

A career pathway is an element which helps employees to see, What position/competency they are in currently. Which is the next position they can achieve if they continue to work in the company. It also tells them what is the time and rating requirements need for promotion to next competency. In the old portal, these pathways were explained in a ppt. where there was need of downloading the file. Even after that, it was a very text-based presentation.

While conducting user interviews we realized that the current system of explaining pathways was not engaging users. Most of the users avoided downloading ppt files, and even after downloading they felt overall experience to be very uninteresting. To engage employees in a better way, we have tried to integrate concepts of gamification. while browsing pathways, employees can choose different types of maps/themes, where they can interact with different elements and explore the path in a more interesting way.
